RSH regrade tracker

Which way the sector’s grades moved

A free read on how many registered providers’ RSH consumer grades moved up, down, or held this grading cycle. Sector-aggregate; no named landlords.

A regulator grade only updates at re-inspection. The current cycle started April 2024 and runs roughly 4 years for large providers, so most of the sector is still waiting on its first re-inspection: that's why grade movement stays this rare. 188 of 189 graded providers (99%) held their grade over the past 12 months; expect movement to pick up as the first inspection wave completes. The count above counts each provider once, net, over that window; the chart below counts every grade change recorded in a calendar year, so a provider that moved twice in one year appears in both bars.

Methodology

How these counts are built.

Counts of registered providers whose published RSH consumer grade (C1-C4) moved up, down, or held, derived from the regulatory grade history we hold. A movement is a net change in tier between a provider's oldest and newest in-window grade. Sector-aggregate only; no provider is named or identifiable.
